Extra Storage™ Self Storage is dedicated to providing you with the best in customer service. Below are the answers to many of the most common questions. If your questions are not answered here, please feel free to contact your nearest facility and speak to one of our Self Storage Professionals.

Do you have outdoor storage for boats, RVs and other vehicles?

Yes, we have space for Boats, RVs, Commercial Vehicles, Semi-trailers, Trucks and Cars at our Ramona, Lake Elsinore, Riverside, Valencia and Santa Ana locations.

When can I get to my belongings?

Our gate access hours are from 7:00 am - 7:00 pm, 365 days per year, excluding major holidays. Most office hours are: Mon - Fri. 9:00 am - 6:00 pm. Sat - 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Sun - 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. Some locations may vary. After hour appointments are available for our customer's convenience.

What if, I need more space after I move in?

All U-Store representatives are experienced storage counselors and will be happy to help you select the correct space for your needs. If after renting and you decide to either increase or decrease sizes, or change units, we will transfer you free of charge.

How much notice to must be given when I move out?

We require a 7 day written notice to move out. Full details on the vacating policy will be provided for you at the time of move-in.

Do you offer a mover?

Although we don't offer a mover, our Valencia location offers FREE use of our moving truck at move-in. Please contact a facility near you for full details. We would also be more than happy to recommend a local reliable mover.

Do you rent moving trucks?

U-Haul truck rentals are available at our Santa Ana location, Red Carpet RV & Boat Storage.

How can I make a payment?

Payments can be processed by mail, in person or through our website. You may also arrange to have your payment automatically deducted from your credit card or bank account. Please ask your manager about this feature. All of our facilities are equipped with a payment drop box, however, we do not recommend this for cash payments.

What sizes do you have and how much do they cost?

We have a wide variety of unit sizes to meet your needs. Unit sizes and prices vary by location. Please contact a facility near you for available sizes and prices.

Are there any items I can't store?

Common sense and state laws determine what may be stored. You alone control access to your storage space. Items you should never store include, but are not limited to, live animals, perishables, liquids, explosives, flammables, paint and cleaners. Remember to always drain fuel from gasoline engines before storing. Throw away anything that could possibly cause a fire. Do not store food or any item that could attract rodents or pests. You are also not allowed to store yourself- your unit cannot be used as an apartment or place to stay.

How do I calculate how much storage space to rent?

Our expert managers can assist you in determining the right size. Just give us a brief description of what will be stored and we'll help you determine how much space is needed. Or use our online sizing guide.

Is there a minimum or maximum length of time I can store things?

Our minimum contract is for one month. Your contract then runs month to month automatically self-renewing every month. There is no limit on how long you can rent your space.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express (AmEx only accepted at Valencia). Please ask about our credit card auto-pay program!

Do you sell Locks, Packing and Moving supplies?

Yes, High quality locks at a discounted price! We also offer boxes and moving supplies. If purchased the day of lease signing you will receive a 10% discount on moving boxes and moving supplies.
